ロレト州知事サンドラ・チュンピタスは、ペルーのジャングル地帯で発生している未確認飛行物体（UFO）による襲撃事件について、地元ラジオ局「ラ・ボス・デ・ラ・セルバ」のインタビューに応じた。村民らは加害者を「ペラカラス（Pelacaras）」、すなわち「フェイス・ピーラー（顔剥ぎ）」と呼称している。
知事は、地域の指導者らが証言を携えて陳情に訪れたことを受け、事案解明のための特別調査部隊の設置を推進していると明らかにした。また、連邦警察および検察庁に対し、正式な書簡を送付したことも説明している。
Governor of Loreto, Sandra Chumpitaz, gave an interview to radio La Voz de La Selva about the incidents involving UFO attacks in the Peruvian Jungle by what villagers call “Pelacaras” or "Face Peelers".
The governor is promoting a task force to investigate it after the community leaders came to her giving their testimony. Chumpitaz had sent letters to Federal Police and the Public Prosecution Office.
